MiloPet Privacy Policy
Draft. Not to be published until approved and the blanks ([…]) are filled.
In short
- We collect only what the app needs to work.
- We do not sell your data, run targeted ads, or put third-party analytics or ad tools in the app.
- Your pets' health records are private to you and your household.
- You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
1. What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email and password (hashed) | Signing in and sending sign-in codes |
| Display name, username, photo, role, city, short bio | Showing your account in the social part |
| Pets, reminders, health records and weights | Building the care plan and syncing it across phones and household members |
| Posts, photos, moments, comments, reactions, follows | The social part |
| Reports, blocks, and your messages to support (with any screenshot) | Community safety and answering you |
| App version, operating system and phone model | Finding and fixing bugs |
| A random id per app install | Seeing when several accounts were used on one phone, to find data-transfer bugs |
| Crash reports (error type, where in our code, which screen) | Fixing bugs — without anything you typed and without pet data |
| What happened to reminders on the phone (scheduled, shown, tapped) and whether the phone allows notifications and exact alarms | Answering "my reminder never came" — without the reminder text |
| Days you used the app and a few sign-up steps (e.g. finishing the intro) | Overall statistics, only ever viewed as totals |
| IP address and device details at sign-in | Account security and abuse prevention |
We do not ask for sensitive data such as your phone number or precise location.
2. Who can see it
- Everyone: only what you made public — display name, username, photo, and the public profiles of pets you chose to share, with their posts and comments.
- Your household: the pets, reminders and health records you entered.
- Our team: only as far as their job needs. Moderators see reported content; support sees your account to answer you. Your email and your pets' health records are masked on support screens; revealing them needs a reason and is logged with the viewer's name. Only the system administrator can view health records. Every change the team makes to your account is logged with a reason.
- Nobody else. We do not give your data to other companies unless the law requires it, and then only what is required.
3. Where it is stored
On servers at [server location and provider]. Traffic between the app and the server is encrypted. We back up regularly; backups are encrypted too.
4. How long we keep it
| What | For how long |
|---|---|
| Account, pets and content | While you have the account |
| A photo you deleted or that was removed | 30 days, then the file is erased |
| Server request and error statistics | 30 days |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
| Reminder delivery records | 180 days |
| Days you used the app | 400 days |
| "Code not arriving" messages without an account | 180 days after closing |
| Staff action log (who did what, why) | [retention period], because appeals need it |
Content reported to the authorities as possibly unlawful is kept until the case is closed.
5. Your choices
- Delete your account: Settings › Delete account. Personal data, posts, comments and photo files are erased. If you are in a household, the pets' care records pass to another member so the pet's history is not lost.
- Correct: change your name, photo and bio in Settings.
- Get a copy of your data: ask support.
- Phone details: switch them off when sending a message to support.
- Notifications: in your phone's and the app's settings.
- Social: a pet becomes public only when you choose.
6. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will tell you in the app before it applies.
7. Contact
[legal entity name] · [address] · [support email] — or in the app: Settings › Help › Message support.
